Pandemic, expansion and success - that was the past year at Boxmech
The Boxmech team looks ahead with calm. Despite the pandemic and many accompanying challenges, the company ended 2020 in a big positive. The last few weeks have been a time of summing up the effects of the strategy pursued so far, reflection and planning for the future. The past year was of course marked by the coronavirus pandemic, which affected some of the implementation of planned investments at our clients. Fortunately, the fear didn't last long. Dorota Starybrat, head of sales at Boxmech, tried to make a short summary.
“March and April were a time when you could feel some anxiety and reflect on what the time will bring. However, due to the fact that 90% of our recipients are food processing plants and people have to eat even in a pandemic we quickly returned to the "pre-covid" reality. Many clients used the time of the crisis to invest and re-invest their companies. As a result we expanded our offer with new products, such as mixer for trolleys and a paddle feeder, but also specialized tables and unloading lines. In addition, we have introduced into our offer such products as electropolished trolleys and other stainless steel containers. It was also a time of tremendous growth in export sales, where we recorded a significant increase in orders. It is all the more pleasing because due to pandemic restrictions, we were forced to give up many business trips and participation in foreign fairs which were cancelled or postponed to an undefined date. We decided to move our activity to the Internet as much as possible, where I believe we used its full potential. We also acquired several strategic foreign distributors who successfully started selling Boxmech's devices on their markets. We are pleased and proud of the fact that most of the customers, satisfied with the quality of our devices, return and buy new machines appreciating the Boxmech brand. Also thanks to the trust in our quality, we managed to become a subcontractor in the field of tippers, feeders and other devices of one of the world's renowned producers of production lines. In recent months, there were also some special challenges, such as tippers for one of the producers of the COVID-19 vaccine, where we had to redesign, build and deliver the tippers in a very short time so that the pharmaceutical company received them before the official distribution of the vaccine. It was a time when we had a sense of mission, a time when we felt we were participating in something special. We are very proud of it. We also deeply believe that 2021 will repeat the success of the previous year. We have solid premises for this, because we are constantly receiving new orders and we are getting signals that we should expect the days of outstanding orders that couldn't be placed in 2020. This year we also have a full fair calendar, we plan to be at our own stands in fairs Barcelona, St. Petersburg, Seoul and Sydney and after a one-year break we have something to boast about so we are waiting impatiently to take part in those events. We also plan to formalize our presence in several key markets and expand our distribution network in prospective directions from where orders are increasingly coming in. Summing up 2020, we can finally boast more than 50% increase in sales and revenue. We have closed over 60 projects in the past 12 months, which gives us more than one project per week. This is a lot considering that despite our global aspirations, we are still a family business, always with great ambitions ”.
